It’s with great sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Francesca Mascioli on July 7, 2018 at the age of 96.

We lost a truly inspiring and beautiful woman. Francesca’s beauty was both inside and out. She was much loved and respected by everyone who knew her. She was one of the strongest women we knew. Francesca had a great love for her family. Her greatest happiness was to bring joy to others. Her generosity, kindness and love sustained us all throughout the years.

Francesca is reunited with her loving husband of 55 years, Ernesto. Francesca will be missed so very much and lovingly remembered by her children, Assunta, Rocco (Wendy), Adorno (Janie), Frank (Darlene), Gabriella and her sisters Luisa, Anna Maria, brothers Luigi (Ada) and Michele (Alba), 19 grandchildren and 37 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren, along with her many nieces and nephews.

Predeceased by her son Bruno (Pat), and daughters Anna, Angelina (Rick), and Sandra, her mother Liberata and Father Emilio, sister Luisa, and brothers Vincenzo and Donato.

Special thanks to the doctors and nurses at the Juravinski Hospital for their compassion and care and Dr. Mukherjee at the Juravinski Cancer Centre for taking care of our mom so well during her battle with cancer.

Dear Mom,

I'm sitting here and and I can't believe that you are really gone. I'm going to miss you so much.

Living so far away made it impossible to see much of each other, but I will always appreciate the times that we did.

You were the strongest and most loving person that I know. You made me a better person for it.

I want you to give Dad a hug for me. I will always love you and remember what a remarkable woman you were.

Love always,
Assunta❤️❤️

My Dear Sweet Mom,

I'm still numb with disbelief in losing you. It doesn't feel real.

When I count my blessings, I think of you first. Your encouragement and support always kept me going. You were always easy to talk to, offer advice and you'll never know how much our conversations meant to me. You were not only the most amazing mother, but you were also a dear friend to me. It was always comforting to know you were there. I never had to worry. Thank you for that! :) You continued to strengthen me which made my life richer and fuller.

I hope that my life reflects love, strength and patience as yours did. Your love made my world a brighter place. I will always love you - more than you will ever know.

Forever,
Gabriella

My sweet Nonna, I will never forget all the memories we've shared together. I'll always remember the Sunday pasta dinners at your house with papa. Those memories are my favourite. We spent time with our most favourite people in the world on those Sundays. You always reminded me so much of my mum, so sweet and beautiful, kind and loving. I love you so much Nonna. I hope you rest easy now, with mum, papa, aunt Sandra, aunt Anna, uncle Bruno and the rest of our beautiful family up above. You are forever in our hearts and will never be forgotten. Rest in peace now Nonna. ❤️
