Peacefully, at home with Carol & Mike by his side on October 24, 2015 at the age of 66 years. Loving husband and best friend of Carol for 42 years. Devoted father of Michael (Jenn) and Tommy (predeceased). Loved Papa of Leyla. Brother of Bob (Joanne), Barb (Ron), Brenda (predeceased), Sharon (Rob) and Ken. Son in law of Olive Dadswell. Brother in law of Sandra (predeceased) and Bill (Lisa). Gary is missed by his extended family, nephews, nieces and many friends. He worked for over 37 years for the City of Hamilton as a garbage man. He made friends wherever he went and will be fondly remembered as a kind, generous and funny man. Gary struggled courageously for the past 13 months, not letting the cancer get him down or change his attitude. He will be greatly missed. Special thanks to Clarissa and the Bayshore nurses and extreme gratitude to the staff and volunteers at the Cancer Assistance Program for your support and compassion. A Memorial Service for Gary will be held at CRESMOUNT FUNERAL HOME 322 Fennell Avenue East on Tuesday, October 27, 2015 at 1 pm. Cremation has taken place. For those who wish, donations in memory of Gary can be made to CAP (Cancer Assistance Program).
