George Dobbins

Loving husband to Gretta (nee Caddies) of 62 years and adored father to David Dobbins and Lesley Delle Grazie (Pat). He will be deeply missed by his grandchildren Alexandra (Ethan) and Max. Predeceased by his brother Ian (Jean) and survived by his brother Robert "Bobbie" (Ann) in Australia and their family. George was born in Cambuslang, Scotland on April 1, 1938. Throughout his life there he worked as an apprentice at Rolls Royce Aero for five years and served two years National Service in the R.E.M.E. Immigrated to Canada In 1966 with his young family, settling in Hamilton where he began working at Westinghouse as a Machinist. After 12 years at Westinghouse, George made the decision to begin working at Proctor & Gamble, where he retired after 17 years. Retirement brought George the ability to spend more time on his favourite sport which was Golf. Many a day during golf season would often find George on the golf course with his golfing buddies and he was fortunate enough to spend winters in Florida with his wife Gretta, doing more of the same. You will be missed forever and will remain always in our hearts. Special thanks to the caring staff members of Dr. Bob Kemp Hospice and the V.O.N. for their kind, loving and compassionate care given to George in his final days.

Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held at CRESMOUNT FUNERAL HOME, 322 Fennell Avenue E. Hamilton on Friday, March 25, 2022 from 6pm-9pm. Memorial Service will be held in the funeral home chapel on Saturday, March 26, 2022 at 11am.
