Gerry was a devoted husband to Barbara (née Ott) for over 48 years. Loving father to Derek, Jennifer (Tyler), Rebecca and Kyle (Amanda). Cherished grandfather to 10 wonderful grandchildren. Gerry will be dearly missed by many family members across Ontario and New Brunswick.
Gerry was a proud and dedicated employee of Dofasco for over 30 years before he retired. If he wasn’t working or spending time with his family, you would catch him cheering on his favourite team, the Toronto Maple Leafs. Gerry was known to many as a kind soul. He was always willing to help others and often went out of his way to do so. He will be truly missed by all of those who knew him.
As per his wishes, cremation has taken place. A committal service will be held at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, 700 Chapel Hill Rd, Stoney Creek, on Tuesday, September 1, 2026 at 1 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.
