

She lived a long and eventful life and touched the hearts of many across the years. She had recently moved from Hamilton to Parkview Meadows Christian Retirement Village – Southview in Townsend.
She emigrated to Canada in the fall of 1952 with her beloved husband, Geert Bijlstra (deceased 1981) and her young infant son, Hendrik (Hank). They were subsequently followed by her mom and dad and siblings. Beloved mother of Hank (Connie Lofthouse-Bylstra), Tillsonburg; Oma of Christina and Patrick Bylstra; Great-Oma of Joshua Bylstra (step-dad, Mark), Kyle Stewart (father, David) and Brycin Bylstra (mother, Beautella).
Survived by sister Riek and sisters-in-law, Ena, Mary and Joke. Predeceased by her parents, Hendrik & Hendrika Westenberg, brothers Jan (Hennie); Gerrit-Jan (Jo), Johan, Henk, and Herman; brother-in-law, Jerry VanHolst.
Dini was a member at the Westdale Reformed Church in Hamilton where she had many friends in the congregation. Over the years she was involved with the Wee Lambs, Super Sixties, among other things as she lived out her faith in the Lord.
After emigrating back from Holland in 1984, she settled in Hamilton. She worked as a shoe salesperson, volunteered at Macassa Lodge and at the Mission Thrift Store. In summers, she volunteered in the kitchen at Camp Shalom in Paris. She loved to travel going on bus tours and a cruise. In her spare time, she was an artist and painter. A number of her works were on display at the visitation and funeral. They reflect the seasons and interests of her life.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at Westdale Reformed Church, Paradise Rd, N., Hamilton on Thursday, January 5 at 11 a.m. Visitation will be from 9:30am to 11am. Family interment will be at Grove Cemetery, Dundas. Memorial donations to Mission Services of Hamilton or Countryside Camp (Camp Shalom) would be greatly appreciated by the family.
