To The Mhlanga’s

I write this with an ache in my heart, realising that our dear Baba will be laid to rest today. My mind is filled with warm memories of him laughing, teasing, cracking jokes in that effortless way he had. Though many years have passed since I last saw him, I could always feel his joy through the stories I heard and the pictures I saw following his passing. 

Utata and Baba shared a special bond; they were genuinely happy around each other, and the moments they shared are ones we will cherish forever.

From my earliest years, I remember his kindness how he always took the time to speak with us, even when we were just young children. He had a beautiful way of drawing us into conversation, making us giggle with his humour and gentle spirit.

To you all, Mama, my Sisters (Bangane)and my Brothers I want to say: this farewell is only a short separation until that great resurrection morning. May this experience, and those that lie ahead, deepen our longing for that joyful reunion with our loved ones in heaven. Dudu, ‘guys’… may the Lord wrap His loving arms around you and carry you through this difficult time.

Baba wami❤️:it has taken me this long to say how i feel because, i have no feelings,i bottle and lock away all the feelings away so life continues.in this case i have done so  aswel:maybe because of the nature of our relationship and circumstances-who knows.
But one thing is certain im dropping a few tears while writing this,because at this moment in time those  feelings(of hurt) come back 😢.

I will miss the way you would call and say-my bambsy,my bambino,magasela,mzila kawulandelwa (i would secretly be rolling my eyes because: hawu khuluma phela sizwe why u have called and we get this over with!) then that call would last 2 hrs +😂😂your laughter was the most funiest thing i have ever heard!it was out of this world.You would have called me izolo and sang me a bithday song for a good 2 mins wout letting me disturb you. And then gone on to talk abt everythn else under the sun for another 2 hrs .
They came some days where i would be so angry and not want to talk to you,id ignore your calls and mesages, although some days where better,id initiate the calls, and i made sure at least id txt on special days aswel.
One thing is for sure though:I will always be grateful to my mom who would constantly ask me when id last spoken to you ,push me to comunicate even if i ddnt feel like it,as she knew my battles. 
OKUSALAYO-i love you baba,i always did,i will forever love you .

Deepest condolences to the Mhlanga family on the loss of a father to many. Our thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time. Praying for the Holy Spirit to comfort you. May you find solace in those cherished zoom meetings which he always was looking ever cheerful.❤️🙏🙏🙏

I still imagine uBaba at LG School when we were young, family functions, sharing in happy moments. His memory brings warmth.  His love, laughter and humour l will cherish forever.

Sending my sincere condolences to the family especially his children.
My first encounter of him was @LOGASS.
He was a church pastor and he baptised me as a teenage girl. My friend and I still fondly remember the day 40+ years on
He was a very firm man but with a huge sense of humour.
As the boys in my class nicknamed him Qaphela, my fondest memories have been stuck with that name
A  couple of years ago we exchanged chats on Facebook
The last words were "" you are still the Sitheni u knew. Awutshintshanga "

The thing I miss the most about mkhulu is your humor. You were the best jokester I have ever known. You made every moment fun, every visit meaningful. Even though I only knew you for a few years, those years felt like a lifetime. I never once felt like you were a stranger your presence felt like home.You also gave me life lessons which do happen thank you mkhulu❤️

My deepest condolences to the Mhlanga family.  May the Lord comfort you during this difficult time.  Hold on to His promises and hope in the coming of the Lord.

I will miss the long conversations about anything and everything  le story sikaNdudu esokufuna ukubizwa baba Ndazi when he was 4 or 5 lilo baba uMoyo that you repeated in almost all our conversations lol .Rest easy Gasela you've run your race.

Baba , Khulu you will always be remembered for you kind words of Counsel and mentorship . We hold on to the promises that our Saviour has gone to prepare a place for us although our hearts are troubled ,but until then our hearts will go on singing until the day God calls us home🥲

Well he fought a good fight and finished his race with his Saviour all that is left is for us to meet him one day on that glorious morning. 
A.K.A (khulu Ka Ndudu to me) was a man full of knowledge and wisdom and experience all combined. Never would I ask him anything Biblical or related to his loving SDA Church would he not have an answer. He was a walking encyclopedia full of information at anytime. 
You will be missed Gasela, Mjamasi Mhlanga. 
To the Mhlanga family far and near we mourn with you. Your loss is our loss as a community. 
May we look forward to the glorious

I remember the day khulu didn't want to shave his beard despite how long it had grown but his daughter, my mom really saw the need for him to. My mkhulu. He was always ready to sneak in a little candy or two, it reminds me of the time everyone thought I had diabetes and how  I found it soooo hard not to eat candy, I mean I was just a child, and I had my methods of sneaking in one or two as well😂. Somehow khulu would laugh a lot even at things that were not that funny and it brought some type of warmth I cannot describe. I guess there is a point where both the elderly and young get to understand each other. One is oblivious of their health risks and hence " doesn't care" while the other is done fighting the good fight and just enjoying their last moments. Now I'm not advocating for unhealthy living, please do take care of your health, thank you. I'm just remembering the good old days that seem so fresh as though they were yesterday but I guess every yesterday is an old day right? Oh and the long voice notes😂 which at the moment feel so short yet still linger...they kinda went like, " Ehhhhh............ Ayigebe......." and yup after a long pause he would continue on to what he wanted to say. He would call me "Ayigebe" because I always heard my dad shouting it out when it was time to leave for school so one day I said it and somehow that must have made my mkhulu's day. Oh my mkhulu. He would say "Qhabo" when we called for my second older sister and "Nomqhele" to my oldest sister. "SekaNomqhele" to my dad which i think might have started as "Yise kaNomqhele" and "NaNomqhele" to my mom. Now I cannot write everything he would call us, his sons and daughters, grandkids, friends, family etc otherwise this would end up being a book but perhaps you can recall what he would call you because surely if it was your own name, there was a tone to it. Though his body is cold, the memories I still have of him are warm. Oh my mkhulu He will be greatly missed and is greatly missed🤍.

Malumez, you have run your race, you bade me bye although we spoke on the phone when you were in SA. I told you that you had mistimed your visit to SA because l had also traveto th US. That's why l said you mistimed at the time. If you  would see your sister that side; she would have smiled and said usungilandele mnawami 😭😭we rest assured that we will all meet on the glassy sea. We hold God's promises you taught us well. See you in the morning, malumez wami🙏

Two of my fondest memories of Elder Mhlanga stand out clearly in my heart.
The first was during a time when many local churches were hesitant to welcome Firm Foundations and our youthful music ministry. Elder Mhlanga stood by us without hesitation. He believed in our calling, advocated for us, and ensured that our ministry had a place to grow.

The second memory is from the day I stepped out of the baptismal pool for the second time in Toronto, ON. Elder Mhlanga shook my hand, looked me in the eye, and told me how proud he was that I had chosen to recommit my life. While many might shy away from being so open and vulnerable, he affirmed my courage. He also gently warned me that the enemy would try to discourage me and mock me in moments of weakness, but he reminded me that each time I fall, I can rise again because I am a new creation in Christ. I have never forgotten those words; I still hear his voice whenever I feel defeated or far from God.

My deepest condolences to the Mhlanga family. May the comfort of the Lord surround you during this time.

My last meeting with Graham as I called him was at the wedding of Zibusiso- the laughter that he always brought will always be a cherished memory.

My memories of baba Mhlanga! 

From the day he got to know me from Za and Sinikiwe, baba asked my little boy then “what is your name?” My son said, “Bambino”. Baba Mhlanga laughed so loud and couldn’t stop laughing. He looked at me and said, “what kind of a name is that?” He was in tears laughing. I was laughing too and couldn’t even talk. From that day he became like a father to me, and grandpa to my kids. We loved him. I was always addressed as Wena “naka Bambino.” I will miss that laugh, his kindness, his love for people and his fatherly warmth. Rest on khulu ka Bambino. Till the resurrection day💕🙏🏽
