Passed away peacefully on Friday, August 15, 2014 at St. Peter’s Hospital (Maplewood) in her 82nd year. Halina and her beloved husband Peter were re-united on their 48th wedding anniversary. Dear mother of Olga and Wolodymyr (Tanya); beloved Baba of Andrew, Selena, and Tiana. Halina was a faithful member of O. Y. K. and also taught at the Ukrainian School at St. Vladimir’s Cathedral for many years. Friends and relatives will be received at MARKEY-DERMODY FUNERAL HOME, 1774 King Street East (at Kenilworth) on Tuesday, August 19, 2014 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Panachyda at 7:30 p.m. The Funeral Service will be held at the Ukrainian Orthodox Cathedral of St. Vladimir, 855 Barton Street East, on Wednesday, August 20, 2014 at 10 a.m. Interment to follow at St. Volodymyr Cemetery, Oakville. Donations to the Canadian Cancer Society, Free the Children, or a charity of choice would be appreciated by the family.
