Harry Bowers

With sadness, the family of Harry Donald Bowers announces his passing at his home on Sunday, October 24, 2010 at the age of 82. Dearly beloved husband of Shirley (Higson) Bowers and the late Marian (Bailey) Bowers (1985). Dearest dad of Kevin (Marilyn), Paul (Kelly), Joe (Robin), Peter (Mia), Barbara (Gerry) and Terry. Lovingly remembered by his grandchildren Dillon, Spencer, Dana, Kathlyn, Tyler, Kaitlyn, Jeffrey, Philip and Crystal and great-grandchildren Raven and Jorilyn. Will be sadly missed by his nephew Barry (Wendy) Bowers and niece Janice (Michael) Kirley. Dearest son of the late Harry and Kathryn Bowers. Special thanks to Michelle, Donna and James for their wonderful support shown to our family. Heart- felt thanks also go out to Dr. Okawara, Dr. Wallik, Gale (R.N.), Mercedes (P.S.W.), Bonnie (OT), and Rev. Doug Moore (Minister and friend). Harry was actively and extensively involved in the community and ultimately was named the 2001 Burlington Senior Citizen of the Year. Cremation has taken place. Memorial visitation for Mr. Bowers will be held at the Truscott Brown and Dwyer Funeral Chapel (1309 King St. East at the Delta, 905-549-2417) on Thursday, October 28, 2010 from 10 a.m. up until the memorial service at 11 a.m. Donations to the Juravinski Cancer Centre, the C.N.I.B or Laidlaw "United Church would be appreciated.
