Helena Hansma

Helena arrived in New York in 1949, settling with her husband and children in St. Catherines. They moved to Drayton, then to the Cambridge/Brantford area. Finally, Helena moved into Wellingstone in Hamilton.

She is predeceased by her husband Jan (John), her son Stephen (Steve), her daughter Janet (Jenny) her father Hendrik Ringelberg, her mother Cornelia Johanna Ootjes-van de Doorn, her sister Hendrika Overman (Tante Riet).

She is survived by her six children Cornelia Johanna, Frank, Hendrik, John, Arnold and Janet Helen and their spouses, 23 grandchildren, 41 great grandchildren, 4 great, great grandchildren, all her nieces and nephews, and her beloved friend Henry Joldersma.

The family wish to thank the staff of Parkview Nursing Centre for their compassionate and loving care.

Relatives and friends are invited to Visitation at Cresmount Funeral Home, 322 Fennell Avenue East, Hamilton on Thursday, May 7th from 2 - 4 pm and 7 - 9 pm. The Funeral Service will be held at Rehoboth United Reformed Church, 77 Glancaster Road, Ancaster on Friday, May 8, 2026 at 11 am. Private burial at Mount Zion Cemetery, Copetown.
