Together they came to Canada as refugees from lands they were forced to leave behind after WWII. They found community through the Germania Club, and raised their three children, John, Paul, and Theresa, on the south mountain of Hamilton, near Ryckman's Corners. Through hard work, perseverance, and sacrifice, they built a good life here that gave three generations a solid foundation to stand on.
She enjoyed gardening and cooking, and took particularly great pleasure in providing splendid, expertly prepared meals to her family and friends. In her final years, as illness took more and more from her, she spoke of wanting to be with her beloved Joschi again — and now she is.
Visitation will take place at Cresmount Funeral Home - Fennell Chapel, 322 Fennell Ave East, Hamilton, on Thursday, July 30, 2026, from 11:30 am to 1:00 pm. The Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated in the Cresmount Chapel at 1:00 pm. Committal to follow at White Chapel Memorial Gardens, 1895 Main Street West, Hamilton.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Alzheimer Society of Canada in her memory.
