Isabel Petre

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Isabel Petre on May 18, 2025, at the age of 93. Beloved wife of the late John Petre (2010) and cherished mother of the late Martin Petre (2011).

Loving mother to Heather Petre (Darlene). Proud and devoted grandmother to Derek Petre (Amy) and Chelsea Petre (Tassie), and adoring great-grandmother to Harrison, Alvey, and Gwendolyn. Isabel will be deeply missed by her extended family and friends in England and New Zealand.

She will be remembered for her unwavering positivity, her warm and constant smile, and her generous spirit.

A long-time employee of Miracle Mart Department Store in Hamilton, Isabel formed many cherished, lifelong friendships during her years there.

The family extends heartfelt thanks to the dedicated staff at Wentworth Lodge for the compassionate care they provided to Isabel in her later years.

Visitation will take place at Cresmount Funeral Home, 322 Fennell Avenue East, Hamilton, on Thursday, May 22, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., followed by a Funeral Service in the chapel at 11:30 a.m. Those wishing to join the family for the interment are welcome to do so at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Stoney Creek. In lieu of flowers, donations in Isabel’s memory may be made to a charity of your choice.
