Isabella Evangelista

It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Isabella, peacefully with her family by her side at the Juravinski Hospital on Sunday, January 8, 2023 at the age of 89.

Predeceased by her loving husband of 63 years Francesco "Frank". Devoted mother of Carlo, and Robert. Loving and proud grandmother "Nonna" of Steven and Erica. Predeceased by her parents Antonio and Maria Della-Nebbia. Sister of the late Nicola (the late Bice), the late Ernesto (Ada), Rocco (Lina), the late Tomasso (Adina), and the late Josephine (the late Mario). Isabella will be forever missed by her many nieces, nephews, and cousins, whom she loved dearly. Isabella had a caring compassion for children, as her and Frank were loving Foster Parents for many children for over 10 years through the Catholic Children's Aid Society of Hamilton. She loved gardening and was especially proud of the beautiful rose bushes she nurtured over the years at her home. A special thank you to the entire team at Arbour Creek Care Centre for the care and compassion they gave to our mom.

Visitation will be held at the MARKEY-DERMODY FUNERAL HOME, 1774 King Street East (at Kenilworth), on Sunday, January 15th from 5-8 pm. Vigil prayers at 6pm. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Eugene’s Church, 232 Queenston Road on Monday, January 16, 2023 at 11 a.m. Entombment to follow at Our Lady of the Angels Mausoleum. If desired, doantions to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated.
