Sending lots of love to Jean and the Children, Grand Children and Great Grand Child.  So sorry I can’t be there with you all.
I’m sure you’ll all remember Jim for the wonderful input he had in your lives.  I know I shall.

Remembering our gentle brother Jim with lots of love . We shared many a laugh together and lots of celebrations.  Especially our Brother Billy’s 60th birthday in Glasgow when all the siblings were together for the first time in many years.  We continued that celebration in Portugal for a few days which was fabulous.  Jim will be sadly missed by us all.  Margaret and Charlie, Mattie and Jack, Billy and  Maggie, Catherine and Alfred.  My favourite memory is Jim calling me “ Lovely Wee Tassie “ and he called me that a couple of weeks ago, so I feel blessed with that.  Our brother was a very kind and accepting man , just like our Father .

So sad to hear about my brother in law. I met Jim over fifty years ago and meeting him again a  couple of weeks ago, after such a long time, brought back fun memories of him.
Jim was an intelligent and gentle man, always with quick quips and a broad smile. A great personality which will sorely be missed by all his family and friends.
Thank you very much Jim for your laughs, reminding me about that Jags v Celtic game that your dad, you and I attended.
Rest in peace Jim.

Brother Jim and I shared so much over the years and all of it made us laugh every single time - even though the stories were repeats! From the Red Rocket Studebaker Lark (which was red) and was called The Red Rocket because we had to shove it everywhere.  We shared the funniest experiences every time we entered a restaurant and the waitperson came over, we could not control our laughter which meant that we went hungry from time to time.
Always the optimist which included ensuring we all shared the optimism.  So many good thoughts about brother Jim Smith.

My memories of Jim are of a gentle, fatherly figure with a wide, infectious grin, jovial personality and great chuckle.  I remember him kneeling down to talk to me when I was a child, looking me in the eye and caring about what I had to say.  Rest in peace Jim.  I raise my glass to you.


Having lived at other ends of the world since I was a young boy, I didn’t see as much of my uncle Jim as I wished.  However, all experiences and memories of him are great – a lovely and kind gentleman.  He just always was a gentleman.  Fondly remember spending time with him and family last time I was in Canada many moons ago.  He will be sorely missed by all who knew him.  Please celebrate his life in a grand fashion.  Vale James Smith.

My memories of Jim are from when I was a child and I distinctly remember how gentle and kind he was towards me-such a nice person.  He will be missed and we are thinking of him. And his family.
