So sorry to hear of Janet’s passing.  We have a lot of wonderful memories of her at Lawson Park and enjoyed getting to know her.

I am so sorry to hear of Janet's passing. We have been friends FOREVER. Lots of long phone conversations over the years while we were both raising our families. Lots of euchre parties, dances, New Year's eves spent together and so many memories we've shared.

My grandmother, Janet Hatt, devoted her life to caring for everyone else. She cooked endless homecooked meals, bought our favourite snacks, took us to the most magical places, threw the best get togethers, talked your ear off and reminded each of us to go with the flow and be kind to each other. She embodied a selfless motherly energy that was infectious to all that interacted with her. Even though she disliked her picture being taken, rarely, that energy was captured. Somewhere, in between dancing around the fire, roasting hot dogs and marshmallows, telling ghost stories, watching us swim for hours and watching TV and playing video games with us it is a wonder that she ever had time for herself.  I am forever thankful for the memories, traditions, and family recipes I am left with in her absence. She will forever live on in my heart and in all that I do for the rest of my life. Until we meet again Nana, I love you.

Janet had many other family members who loved her dearly. She was surrounded by love until the very end by her daughter Mitzi, son Dale, granddaughter Sarah and her husband, grandson Andrew, great grandson, and sister Virginia. She was loved from afar by her daughter-in-law Kim, grandson Colin and niece and nephew and the many friends who encountered her in her day-to-day life.
