Jason was born in Hamilton in 1975 to Leonard George Forrest and Lyndia Wuss. He spent majority of his life in Hamilton with brief stays in Chatham, Ontario and McCreary, Manitoba while growing up.
He was a family-first father and son who always enjoyed having his family and friends around. Jason was known for making everyday events seem extraordinary with his love and unmistakeable WOOs to show his support and enthusiasm. Jason was a devoted father, but his greatest pride and joy was his grandson.
Jason was a true warrior, often fighting anxiety, depression and most recently cancer. Although Jason often battled with his own mind, his heart was pure gold and it will be what his family and friends remember most about him. Jason was also a passionate Toronto Maple Leafs and Toronto Raptors fan, rarely ever missing a game, even when battling cancer.
Jason is survived by his children Michael John Forrest and Brooklyn Alexandra Forrest, his grandson Maverick Bernard Forrest, his sister Katrina Forrest, and his parents Leonard George Forrest and Mabel Fountain. He is preceded in death by his mother Lyndia Wuss.
A visitation for Jason will be held Monday, August 25, 2025 from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM at Markey-Dermody Funeral Home, 1774 King Street East, Hamilton, ON L8K1V7.
