Jean Sawchuk

Jean was the beloved wife of the late William Sawchuk (2014), loving mother of Ron (Deanna), cherished grandmother of Kelly and the late Cory, and proud great-grandmother of Travis.

She was predeceased by her siblings Paul, Emil, Joe, Peter, Stella, Olga, and Martha, and is survived by her brother Eugene. Jean will also be lovingly remembered by her many nieces and nephews in Ottawa and Manitoba.

Jean dedicated 25 years of service to International Harvester. She found great joy in cooking, gardening, and, above all, spending time with her family. Her grandchildren were the light of her life, and she will always be remembered as a devoted and wonderful grandmother whose love and kindness touched everyone who knew her.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects at MARKEY-DERMODY FUNERAL HOME, 1774 King Street East (at Kenilworth), on Thursday, July 16, 2026. Visitation to be held from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. with a chapel service to follow. Interment at Mountview Gardens, 735 Highway #8, Stoney Creek, Ontario.
