Beloved husband of Sandra, for 49 years.
Loving father of Scott (Julie) and Wally, and stepfather of Michael (Teri) and Ron (Peter).
Cherished grandfather of Karlee, Koltan, Brittany, Meagan, Alex, and Blaec. Great-grandfather to Peyton and Lily.
He is survived by many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
He is predeceased by his mother, Jean Burns Kulyk, and stepfather, Gerald Kulyk, as well as his brother Walter, and his son Wally.
John drove as a transport owner and operator for many years, but time spent with his family was what he cherished most. He also enjoyed spending time by the water, catching fish.
As per John’s wishes, cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held at Markey-Dermody Funeral Home, 1774 King Street East, Hamilton on Friday, October 23, 2026 from 5-7pm. A celebration of John’s life will be held at Halton Naval Veterans Association, 2444 Industrial Street #5, Burlington on Friday, November 6, 2026 from 7pm – 1am.
