Passed away peacefully with his family by his side at Macassa Lodge Nursing Home on Monday, December 27, 2010 at the age of 87. Beloved husband of Ana (nee Beg) for 53 years. Dear father of Vlado (Mary), Bernadette (Ivica) Belan, and John (Wini). Dearly cherished grandfather of Nicole (Derek) Ellerker, Adrianne, Kaleb, Simon, Mark, Michelle, Matthew, Miko, Levi, and Hunter. Great-grandfather of Jacob and Jonathan. Predeceased by siblings Peter, Mijo, Jože, Kate and Ana. Will be dearly missed by many nieces and nephews in Canada and Croatia. The family will receive friends at MARKEY DERMODY FUNERAL HOME 1774 King Street East (at Kenilworth) on Wednesday, December 29th, 2010 from 2-4 and 6-9 p.m. Prayer Service on Wednesday December 29th, 2010 at 7:45 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated from Holy Cross Croatian Church on Thursday, December 30th, 2010 at 11:30 a.m. followed by interment at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. We wish to express our sincere gratitude to the staff at Macassa Lodge (E2 wing) for their wonderful care. In lieu of flowers, donations to Holy Cross Croatian Church or sv. Mihael i sv.
