

Fred was born in Hamilton, Ontario, on December 12, 1948, and will be fondly remembered by family, friends, and all who knew him. Fred’s early career began as a machinist at Stelco Hilton Works in Hamilton, where he learned the skills that would serve him well in his later years. He retired as the Primary Maintenance Foreman in the Blast Furnace at Lake Erie Steel in Nanticoke, Ontario.
A passionate animal lover, Fred had a deep affection for his dogs and horses, and he enjoyed spending time with them throughout his life. He also had a creative spirit, finding joy in woodworking and testing his knowledge with trivia. Fred was a lifelong Beatles fan, and their music was always a cherished part of his life. Fred leaves behind his beloved daughters, Michelle (Max) and Lisa (Chris), and his granddaughter Emma (Tyler), who were his pride and joy. He is also survived by his sister Joanne (Murray), brother-in-law Gord (Trudy), and sister-in-law Trudi. Fred will also be deeply missed by his good friend Robert “Bob” Caudwell, with whom he shared many years of friendship. Fred was predeceased by his wife, Brenda, the love of his life. Cremation has taken place, and in memory of Fred, the family kindly requests donations be made to the SPCA, an organization he supported throughout his life. Fred's memory will live on in the hearts of his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.
