Josephine (Jo) Parsons

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Jo at her home on August 13, 2014 at the age of 87. Beloved wife of Frank for 63 years. Loving mother of Sharon Parsons-Johnson (Grant), Arlie Singer (Robert), Jeff (Christa), David, Pam McGrath (Mike). Cherished grandma of David (Ali), Alyssa (Jay), Greg (Amie), Katie (Bryan), Chelsea, Matthew, Adam (Katie), Lauren, Drew, James, Jeremy, Catherine, Meghan, Hailey, Jake and great-grandma of Miles, Bennett, Jack, Nicholas, Audrey, Calvin, Charlotte and Zoe. Dear sister of Eva Sveen (the late Olaf), Rose Lischka (the late Gillis Birdsell) and Wayne Lischka (Benita). Predeceased by her siblings Madeline Keresztesi (Joe), Nick Lischka (Yvette) and Don Lischka (Elaine). Jo will be sadly missed by nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends. Special thanks to Dr. P. Chu, the Juravinski Hospital, Bayshore, CBI, VON and CCAC for their exceptional care. Visitation at MARKEY-DERMODY FUNERAL HOME, 1774 King Street East (at Kenilworth) on Sunday from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. with Vigil Prayers at 7 p.m. and eulogies to follow. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Luke’s Roman Catholic Church, 200 Mount Albion Road, on Monday, August 18, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. Interment Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Cancer Assistance Program.
