Josephine "Pepa" Popovic

Pepa was the loving wife of Jure who passed suddenly in 1983. She was a devoted mother to George and Lou, and a beautiful mother-in-law to Kay. Josephine adored her three grandchildren Jason, Megan (Josh) and Mark (Tracy). Eight great-grandchildren were all lovingly embraced by her and loved forever: Ariana, Julia, Niko, Penelope, Max, Noah, Nash, and Charlotte.

Josephine and Jure left their native land in Lika, Croatia for Larder Lake, Ontario and then moved to Hamilton in 1963. They worked diligently to build their life here in Canada. Pepa was born with a generous and loving heart, that brought unconditional love and understanding into every relationship. She will be deeply missed by her family and many friends. Her presence, her voice, her genuine interest in people’s lives, and care for those around her will be missed everyday, yet always remembered in our hearts.

Visitation at the MARKEY-DERMODY FUNERAL HOME, 1774 King Street East (at Kenilworth) on Tuesday, September 20, 2022 from 6- 8 pm. Funeral Service will take place in the Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday, September 21, 2022 at 1 pm. Interment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
