Josip Barberic

After a courageous battle with a lengthy illness, our hero entered into eternal rest on Saturday, November 29, 2014 at Juravinski Hospital in his sixty-fifth year. Beloved husband of Branka for 42 years. Cherished father of Tanya and Eric Dubreuil, Stacy and Jaime Mota and Steven and Lee-Ann Barberic. Treasured and adored Deda of Maksim, Olivia and Feliks. Beloved son-in-law of Zorka Spahic. Josip will be fondly remembered by family, friends and Kumovi in Canada, USA, Australia and Croatia, especially the families of Branko Nastav, Ruza Krznaric, Ljubica Jelacic, Stephanie Morris, Zlatko Krstulich and Mary Alexander. A special thank you to Dr. R. Foley, Dr. L. Ruo and the exceptional nursing staff at the Juravinski Hospital. A tremendous thank you also to Nurse Linda Borger of St. Joseph’s Home Care for her compassionate care. Friends and family may call at MARKEY-DERMODY FUNERAL HOME, 1774 King Street East, Hamilton on Monday, December 1, 2014 from 2-4 and 6-9 p.m. Vigil Prayers at 7:15 p.m. The funeral mass will be celebrated at Holy Cross Croatian Church, 1883 King Street East, Hamilton on Tuesday, December 2, 2014 at 9:30 a.m. Interment Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Josip’s Memory to the Canadian Cancer Society and the Juravinski Hospital and Cancer Centre Foundation.
