Josip Bratetic

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Josip on November 1, 2015 at the age of 87. Beloved husband of Nada for 52 years. Loving father of Nancy Tukonic (John Rozman) and Eddie Bratetic (Nancy Karigiannis). Cherished grandpa of Stephanie Tukonic (Joseph) and Melanie Tukonic (Mark). Dear brother of Danica Marinic (Jura), Zvonko Bratetic (Djurdja) and brother-in-law of Darinka Gasparac (Marijan). Predeceased by his sisters Olga and Zorka and his brothers Mate, Franjo and Drago. He will be sadly missed by nieces, nephews, family and friends. Josip was a proud member of Steelworkers Local 5328 and was a retired employee of Stelwire with 30 years of dedicated service. Special thank you to the staff of ER at the Juravinski Hospital for their exceptional care. Visitation at MARKEY-DERMODY FUNERAL HOME, 1774 King Street East (at Kenilworth) on Wednesday from 2-4pm and 6-9pm with Vigil Prayers at 7:15pm. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Holy Cross Croatian Church, 1883 King Street East, on Thursday, November 5, 2015 at 9:30am. Interment Our Lady of the Angels Cemetery. Donations in Josip’s memory may be made to the Juravinski Hospital and Cancer Centre Foundation.
