Joy is survived by her beloved husband Dave. She was the loving mother of Jeremy (Amanda). Cherished grandma of Lena whom she loved with all her heart. Joy was the stepmother of Mark (Tina) and Tara (Ron) and step grandma of Alex and Charlotte. She was the loving daughter of Connie and Walter Tingley. She is predeceased by her sister Cindy. She is survived by her sister Tracey (Jules), Trina (John) and her brother-in-law Michel. She will be dearly missed by her many in-laws, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Joy was a proud employee with the City of Hamilton for 35 years, retiring in 2012. She was a die-hard fan of the New York Giants, Boston Bruins and the Hamilton Tiger Cats. Joy was a very strong-willed person and would never back down from a disagreement when she knew she was right, and that was most of the time. She will always be loved and never forgotten. The family would like to thank all the staff at the Juravinski Hospital, especially Doctor Dadwal.
At Joy’s request, there will be no formal service or visitation. All she wanted was a big party. A Celebration of Life will take place at Royal Canadian Legion Branch 163, 435 Limeridge Rd E, Hamilton on Sunday, October 18 from 3-7 p.m. To honour Joy, please wear your favourite sports jersey.
You are now at peace. Love you forever. Berby and George will be waiting with open arms.
