I was so shocked to hear about Karen’s sudden passing and would like the Family know my thoughts and prayers are with you all in this difficult time. I couldn’t attend viewing as out of the country but still thinking of Karen and her Family.  RIP Karen.

I can hardly believe what I read....I was so very sorry to hear of the loss of Karen. We grew up together on Cameo Ave. We went different schools until we attended Barton, what fun we had, then we changed schools you and I and went on to S.A.M. for dental school, again what fun we had , we went out first big plane trip to Florida, and yes the fun we had . We started to take a different path when I moved to Toronto to be with Paul ( my husband now of 43 years) yes you were right he is a keeper. I was honoured to have you as my maid of honour and for me to be in your wedding.......so many special memories, I will never forget. When I moved to Calgary many years later we did lose touch abit then reconnected via Facebook and it was as if we went back in time when we got together with the Barton girls.....just so much fun. I'm so saddened that you're gone but I know these memories will last forever. You are loved and you will be missed my friend....love your friend Betty (and Paul) fly with the angels. Karen always went out of her way to make others feel valued. She never missed an opportunity to compliment someone and lift them up. She was not only one of the kindest people I knew, but she also had the best sense of humour…always cracking jokes and lightening up heavy situations.
I will miss her checking in on our family and watching and admiring the growth of our children. 
Our family feels incredibly lucky to have had someone so special in our lives. Our deepest condolences go out to Karen’s family and all who loved her.

Karen was the kind of friend who made life feel lighter.
With laughter that filled the room and a heart always ready to help.
Whether we were playing Right Left Center, bowling strikes (or trying to), sharing supper outings, or singing our hearts out, she made the ordinary feel special.
Every moment with Karen was full of joy, full of life.
She gave so freely of herself, and her presence was a gift.

Its heartbroking, the world will never be the same loosing our  Karen . We’ve known each other for years, we grew up around the corner from each other. We're High School Barton Babes!!!! 
Karen was truly one of a kind — exceptional, beautiful, loving, fun, and endlessly caring. She was always the first to offer a helping hand, and when my husband got sick, she didn’t hesitate for a moment to help us during a very difficult time. Karen was an amazing person. I first met Karen when we worked at Home Depot and then at Idlewyld Manor. She always greeted me with a cheerful hello, a radiant smile and shed positivity into our conversation. She never let things bring her down and always looked at the bright side of things. I am so very sorry for your loss, she will be dearly missed. I can hear her laughter as I write this and I hope all the memories you shared will bring you comfort during this time and the days ahead.

My deepest condolences to Corrie, Karen's beautiful children,grandchildren family and friends. Karen was a bright light ,everywhere she went. When my late mother lived at Idelwyld,Karen went in to visit her often. My mother loved to see her. 
She made people there feel happy. Turns out she knew me from Barton Highschool. She was also in my grade 5 class,Blessed Sacrament. 
Social gatherings through Barton Babes she was always there.

The pain is real. The shock unyielding.  But the memories of Karen will never end. She was one of the most amazingly supportive, loving, funny, unselfish people I've ever known. To know her was to love her. Her smile lit up a room the moment she entered. Her sense of humour  could be crass but delivered with a sparkle in her eye so you couldn't help but laugh. She was a star in the universe and only wanted everyone around her to share her light. I loved her, I love her still. I will miss her always. I'll look  for your sparkle in the night's sky Karen. Aunt Karen will be greatly missed. I spent time today sharing memories of her with my kids. How she played Barbie's with me, and took me to get my ears pierced, how her and my grandma used to laugh and laugh on the back deck so even the neighbours a few houses down knew they were out there. Now they are laughing together again.
