She was surrounded by her devoted daughter, Chelsea, and son-in-law, Frank. She is reunited with her loving husband, Donald, and her parents Bill and Gertrude Twiss. She is survived by her dear sister, Sally. She is also remembered by her longtime partner, Antonio. Cherished niece of Sandy and Bill Simai. She will be deeply missed by her many cousins, family members, former colleagues, neighbours and friends. Though those who loved her are heartbroken by her passing, there is comfort in knowing she is free from pain and finally at peace.
Kelly was an avid reader, an enthusiastic decorative plate collector, and had a lifelong love of mysteries and true crime. She enjoyed meeting for coffee, going out for breakfast, and taking walks along the beach and the waterfront. She was also a lifelong animal lover and will be dearly missed by her cat "grandbabies", who brought her endless joy.
The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to the many doctors, specialists, nurses, personal support workers, healthcare workers, social workers, custodians, and staff at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Hamilton General Hospital, Juravinski Cancer Centre, Juravinski Hospital, and the Satellite Health Facility for their kindness, compassion, and care throughout her journey. Special thanks to Dr. Beers, Dr. Ramos, Dr. Ohson, Dr. Lariviere, the Palliative Outreach Team, and the palliative nurses from VON. They would also like to extend their profound thanks to the wonderful nurses and staff at Summit Heights Retirement Residence who provided excellent care and support, and who ensured her final moments were as peaceful and comfortable as possible.
Her daughter would also like to thank everyone who reached out, offered their support, and visited Kelly throughout this difficult time. Your kindness and compassion meant so much and will always be remembered and deeply appreciated.
