Kenneth Ross Hajas

Dearly loved husband of Kathy Hajas for 64 years and cherished dad of Lauri Barrette (Daniel), Gail McLennan (Rob) and Sue Barker (Bryan). Adored grampa and great-grampa to Jessica (Alex), Wren, Andrew, Kara, Ashley (Cody), David (Brett), Kristen (Ryan), Paul, Olivia, Hudson and Lukas. Ken was born to Alex and Marvel in 1942 and is survived by brother Jim (Dale), sisters Carol Hajas and Kathryn Latour. In his earlier years he was proud to achieve certification as a pilot. He and Kathy enjoyed many years of boating and travelling. Together they created fond memories with family and many treasured lifelong friends. He was a founding and lifelong member of West Highland Baptist Church, a Real Estate Broker and two term President of the Hamilton-Burlington Real Estate Board. He headed up a number of development projects in the Hamilton area. To him, caring well for his family was his highest calling. He was a man who measured his words and when he spoke his words had great impact. He was a respected mentor and role model and his quiet generosity touched the lives of many. He was a man of strong faith and lived a beautiful life to the Glory of God. Cremation has taken place.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 21 from 6-9 pm and his Celebration of Life Service will take place on Friday, May 22 at 1:00 p.m., both at West Highland Baptist Church, 1605 Garth St., Hamilton. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Dr. Bob Kemp Hospice where Ken was cared for beautifully or to West Highland Baptist Church.
