I worked with Len at Guy Brown many years ago and he also taught both of my children in kindergarten. Our family was very sad to hear about his passing. He had a heart of gold! He made me laugh, he shared everything he had and always had a coffee ready for anyone that needed one. I remember his crow puppet, his morning messages teaching students their letters and the way he made everyone feel special. He passed on teaching advice I keep with me to this day. I said to my own children today, “there are people that you meet in life that are one of a kind and Len was that”.  Alicia Mann Da Silva

Len was a childhood friend.   A gang of us would meet at his corner and we would walk to Norwood Park School together.  Len was always "a little late" and we could hear his mother hurrying him out the door as we had a 2 mile walk from the corner.  There were always laughs and fun along the way.  We all loved Leonard! Over the years we connected at various functions and it was like "time had never happened".
     * There was always lots to talk about.  

Heard the news yesterday and my heart sank. I used to be very close friends with Kristin and spent many moments with Len.  I only hope she and the rest of his family find peace in this sad moment. Im deeply sorry Kristin for your loss. Thinking of you.......xo

 I am thankful to have worked with Len at Guy Brown School as he was an  outstanding educator that inspired children, families, and staff.  You will be missed by all of us at HWDSB.

I was on Dr Davey staff with Len and he was such a wonderful, thoughtful, caring teacher. I was thrilled all the little people in his care had such a warm and  fun loving teacher and friend. We loved to hear the stories he would share with us. We know his daughter, Kristin was so special to him. I have not seen him for years but he always has a special place in my memories of teaching at Dr Davey. 
        Our sincere sympathy to all his family and friends.

Sad to hear of Len's passing.  I so enjoyed teaching with him at Adelaide Hoodless school...he was a wonderful Kindergarten teacher! I will always remember him smiling and singing down the halls.....keep singing Len!


I worked with Len for close to a decade. He was funny, kind, thoughtful, and an asset to our school. We eventually became friends and kept in touch socially after we were both retired until he could not manage it any more. He touched  many lives with all of the students  he taught, their families and those of us who were fortunate to have worked with him.  He will live on in all of our memories.  Gone too soon, but will never be forgotten .

A very kind and gentle soul....Gods Speed....Heaven is a brighter place today....
