Dear Paul and Elli,

We are very sorry for your loss.
Even though Madeleine had come to an age where a passing isn't a big surprise, we were shocked very much anyway.
This weekend uncle Ivo told us the sad news.
She was so healthy, vivid, alert, “ so very much alive” to the very end in our perception.
We experienced her as somebody who was still so very caring, wise and intelligent, involved and interested in her family, knowing what she wants, proud of herself and thus also taking care of herself.

However this may be someday comforting, we can imagine it makes her loss so much harder at the time.
And it all went so fast. We hope she didn't suffer much and that you somewhat had the chance to say goodbye/take leave of tante Madeleine.

Tine and I would like to offer our condolences and sympathy to the family.
We wish you all strength to accept her passing and comfort in each other and in the many memories of our Madeleine, a beautiful woman in many aspects.

mesmerizing mater familias.
So very suddenly you left us,
but not before a well-meant word
about the beaming beautiful woman you were.

Many years ago as Henri's loving wife
you left Flanders to built a whole new Canadian life.
You worked so hard
you did your part
and even though you've loved and lost,
you kept bringing up the most.

Perpetual passionate and strong hearted
so many good things you've realized and started:
Caring kids and family
which you loved and stood for truly.

Always ready for a talk
you stood your ground,
walked your walk
and even in the way you treated yourself
lays a message for everyone else:

ever elegant
constantly caring
wherever you went

This is how we will celebrate and remember
one of our dearest family members.
