Maggie was predeceased by her parents, Ted and Ruth Young, her brothers Teddy and Tom, and her sister Toots.
For the past 28 years, Maggie shared a wonderful life with her loving partner, Dave Harvey, who will miss her dearly. Together, they enjoyed the simple things that made life special — family, friends, laughter, and time spent with the people they loved.
Maggie was the loving and devoted mother of Laurie Haggstrom (Don), David Benallick(Lisa), and Lynne Matsell (Pete). Lovingly appreciated by Dave’s children Brian Harvey(Gisele), David Harvey(Joan), Joan Pifer(Chris). She will be missed by her precious doggie Hunter.
But perhaps one of Maggie’s greatest joys was being “Gramma.” She was an incredibly proud, loving and doting grandmother to Lauren (Mark), David (Jayme), Mackenzie (Mike), Cassie (Zack), Thomas, and Dawson (Kiarra). She loved being part of their lives and could often be found cheering them on from the sidelines, watching their games and competitions, celebrating their announcements and accomplishments, and simply enjoying every opportunity to spend time with them.
Maggie will also be deeply missed by her many nieces, nephews, in-laws, and extended family in New Brunswick, dear friends, and the many people she welcomed into her life and treated as her own. Maggie had a way of making people feel like family.
Retirement certainly didn’t mean slowing down. She filled her days with the people and activities she loved most. She enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren, gathering family and friends together, sharing a good laugh, and making memories wherever she went. She treasured the friendships she made at their summer lake home, enjoyed Ladies’ night at their Court at Rushdale residence and especially loved winning at bingo.
