Margaret was such a lovely lady—kind, thoughtful, and always remembering her friends and making the effort to call. She will be greatly missed. God bless you, Margaret. May you rest in peace.

I knew and loved Margaret.  She was one of a kind. I miss talking with her every week, going to her home for tea and cookies. So many lunches with her loyal group of friends.  Her warmth, love of life, her generous laugh and kindness.  I'll miss you Maggie.  Sharon

Our dear friend Maggie,   you were always a wonderful addition in our life. For how many years?  .40  SOMETHING for me , longer for Bill ,who used to play  golf with Colin.
5 days a week  we spent countless hours on the phone discussing Coronation street, followed by events in the world.  You helped me with your wisdom, wise words and advise .  You will never know how much !      
In my mInd I gave you the native name  WISE OWL  Times I will always treasure and never forget.
You have done so very much for other people, you have deserved your wings.  FLY HIGH GIRL.  ,  we loved you 🤗

Margaret, Colin and Mary Hunter from Killin

It is with deep sadness that we mourn the passing of our much-love friend Margaret.
 
Born in Kenmore by Aberfeldy, Scotland,  Margaret spent her early years with her family in the beauty of the Highland countryside. After meeting Colin and getting married in Kenmore they settled in nearby Killin.  In 1967, Margaret, Colin and Colin junior emigrated to Canada, where they built a new life while maintaining a strong connection to their Scottish roots.
 
Margaret was known for her kindness, generosity, and warm-hearted nature. Her home was always open to family and friends, and visitors from Scotland could be assured of a heartfelt welcome whenever they came to Canada. She took great pleasure in helping others and was always ready with support, encouragement, and a listening ear.
 
Despite making Canada her home, Scotland always held a special place in her heart. She greatly enjoyed her visits back to  Aberfeldy and Killin, cherishing the opportunity to reconnect with loved ones, revisit treasured places, and share memories of times gone by.
 
Margaret will be remembered for her warmth, her unwavering love for family and friends, and the lasting friendships she nurtured on both sides of the Atlantic. Her kindness touched many lives, and her memory will continue to be treasured by all who knew and loved her.
 
She will be deeply missed and fondly remembered always.

Margaret and I met at work in 1970, and we never had a cross word.  Margaret enjoyed the simple pleasures in life like a drive out of town, talking politics, lunch with a pinot grigio, but sometimes we just shared a cup of tea, and enjoyed each other's company.  Margaret was especially kind to my Mum when she came to live in Canada.  They would go for drives in the country, and often ended their day with a flutter at the casino.  Margaret was the first friend I made when I came to Canada, and she and Colin Sr. treated me like family. Margaret, I know you're at peace now with "the two Colins". Rest easy my friend!

Dear Margaret,
It’s hard to imagine a world without you in it.
Our friendship started around 1970 when you hired me as a summer student at St. Joseph’s Hospital. Neither of us could have guessed that what began as a job would turn into a friendship lasting more than fifty years. Over those years you became so many things to me-a mentor, a trusted colleague, a confidant, and at different times in my life, you were like a sister and even a mother.
We worked together for many years-first you in Human Resources and me in Payroll, and later side by side in HR, with you in Recruitment and me in Employee Relations. Those years built a friendship that became one of the greatest blessings of my life. I still smile when I think of those early days when I called you “Mrs. Kennedy”.  Before long, you simply became Margaret–and one of my dearest friends. 
We shared so many wonderful adventures together. There were our trips to Las Vegas, happily leaving our husbands at home, unforgettable journeys on the Rocky Mountaineer and through Eastern Canada, and more than twenty years of cheering on our beloved Tiger-Cats from the stands. Even after you could no longer attend the games, we still talked football and looked forward to every season.
I’ll always laugh when I think about our Friday the 13th trips to Port Dover. Thousands of bikers would roll into town on their Harleys, while we arrived quite happily in a car.  On our last trip, Colin Jr. gave us one simple mission-not to come home without a picture of us with a man and his Harley. We took that challenge seriously, scanning the crowds of bikers until we finally worked up the courage to ask a biker, “Are you the man?” It’s a memory that still makes me laugh, and one I’ll treasure forever.
Thank you for your friendship, your loyalty, your laughter, and for always being there through all of life’s ups and downs.  
I will miss you more than words can say, but I will carry our memories with me always.
