Margaret (Mekker) Tanner

She was predeceased by husbands, Alexander Mekker (1974) and Darcy Tanner (2008), parents Dan, Barbara, and Frank.

Beloved mother of Daniel (Carol Ann) Mekker, Nancy (Tracy) Jones, Marian (Peter) Wiskar, and David (Kevin, Antonio) Mekker, and loving grandmother of Michael (Nikki), Trevor (Carmelle), Connor (Sydney), Amanda-Sapphire, Michelle (Alex), Jessica (Billy). Proud GeeGee to Lilly and Olivia. She will also be lovingly remembered by her brother Bill (Donna) and other extended family and friends.

Margaret was a very proud Hungarian who fully embraced the culture and food. She was very involved with the community and her church, she was proud to be the first female Lions Member in Niagara Falls, but most important was spending time with her family. She also felt blessed to have so many long time, valued friends.

The family wish to thank the staff of Bayshore and St. Joseph's Homecare for their compassionate care, ensuring she was able to stay in her home.

Relatives and friends are invited to the Funeral Mass that will be celebrated at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, 260 Herkimer Street, Hamilton on Monday, October 5, 2026 at 11 am. Cremation will follow.

As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.

Mom will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
