With heavy hearts we announce the passing of Maria Vertatschitsch on August 25, 2010 and celebrate her life. Maria was a woman of quiet strength and courage, who always thought of others first. Predeceased by her husband Erich (2001), brothers John, Ignasc Hochbaum, sisters Rosemarie Hochbaum and Anne Daugela and son-in-law George Bier. Maria leaves behind a family grateful for her presence in their lives; daughters Rosemarie Bier and Dori Kazimer, grandchildren Jesse, Aaron and Chris Bier and Tia (Corey Yucik) and Erica Kazimer. Maria will be remembered by her brothers and sisters-in-law and her many nieces and nephews. The family would like to sincerely and deeply thank the entire staff and volunteers and the Bob Kemp Hospice for the care and caring. Visitation will be held at CRESMOUNT FUNERAL HOME 322 Fennell Avenue East, on Friday, August 27 from 5-9 p.m. Vigil prayers at 7:30 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held at Corpus Christi Roman Catholic Church on Saturday, August 28 at 10 a.m. Interment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
