Marilyn was born in Galt, ON but spent most of her life growing up in Hamilton where she raised her family. Beloved wife of John Nelligan for over 40 years and loving mother to Dale Peddle (Nancy) and Daryl Nelligan (Sayuri). Also survived by her brother Ronald Payne (the late Rose) and dear cousin Dawn Smith. Marilyn cherished her three grandchildren, Dana (Mitchell) and Nathan (Aliyah) and Liam, always surrounding them with love. She will also be missed dearly by many nephews, nieces, friends and extended family.
John and Marilyn moved north to retire and spend more time at their hunting and fishing camp on Lake Acheson. Marilyn loved fishing and time at the camp but she had many other talents including swimming, figure skating, baking, sewing and painting.
Visitation will take place at MARKEY-DERMODY FUNERAL HOME, 1774 King Street East (at Kenilworth) on Saturday, September 23 from 1-3 pm. Cremation has already taken place. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimer Society would be appreciated by the family.
