Mary Wilhelm

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Maria Wilhelm (née Strzalkowska), who was born on December 21, 1936 in Poland, and passed away peacefully on December 16, 2025, at St. Peter’s Hospital in Hamilton, with family by her side. She was 88 years old.

Maria is lovingly remembered by her daughter, Jean “Genia” Wilhelm. She was also cherished by her sister, Bronislawa Hrynik and her late brother-in-law, Kazimierz Hrynik. Maria was predeceased by her beloved parents, Jadwiga and Marcin Strzalkowski, as well as her treasured sister Marcela Krajewski and brother-in-law Waclaw Krajewski. Maria will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by her nieces, nephews, and extended family.

Family and friends will be received at Markey-Dermody Funeral Home, 1774 King Street East, Hamilton, on Monday, December 22, 2025, from 10:00am to 11:00am, immediately followed by a service in the Funeral Home Chapel. Entombment will take place at Holy Sepulchre Catholic Cemetery, 600 Spring Gardens Rd, Burlington, Ontario, L7T 1S9
