Maureen will be most remembered for her unwavering loyalty, kindness and caring nature. She was someone who always put others before herself and would do anything for the people she loved. A friendly neighbour and a true people person, Maureen had a wonderful ability to make everyone feel welcome the moment they walked through her door. She was the life of the party, loved to dance, and was a talented baker who took great joy in making fudge and other treats for family, friends and neighbours. Deeply rooted in her Catholic faith, Maureen was a devoted Catholic who loved attending Mass. Her faith was an important part of her life and brought her great comfort and strength.
Maureen also cherished the many memories she and Bruce created together throughout their 51 years of marriage. Travel was another great love. For over 50 years, Maureen and Bruce travelled to Barbados 20 times, a place that became her second home and held a very special place in her heart.
Maureen was blessed with many wonderful friendships throughout her life. Special mention goes to her best friends, Lidia Soares , Nicole Soares and Ron Galasso (Carolyn), who was Bruce's best friend since high school. She also held a special place in her heart for good friends Frank and Fran Florio. Their friendship, laughter and many shared memories meant so much to Maureen.
Above all, Maureen treasured her family, her faith, her friendships and the simple joy of caring for others. Her warmth, generosity and loving spirit will remain in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to Dr. Gerald Cox at St. Joseph's Hospital, as well as Dr. Chandak Upagupta and their team, for their care, compassion and support.
