Michael Anthony Cusick

It is with heavy, heavy hearts that we announce the sudden and tragic passing of Michael Anthony Cusick, on December 30, 2016, at the age of 62. Beloved and devoted husband of 33 years to Margaret (nee Ewaskiw). Proud and adoring father of Stephanie and Vincent. Treasured son of Michael Sr and the late Ellen Cusick. Son-in-law of Eva and the late Peter Ewaskiw. Cherished brother of Patricia (Harold) Akers, Terence (Linda) Cusick, Rita (Bruce) Schneller. Brother-in-law of Cathy and Chris Kelly. Adored by many nieces, nephews and cousins both here and in Ireland, Scotland and England. Michael was a retiree of Canada Post of 34 years. He had made many lifelong friends and was just starting to enjoy retirement with Margie. Michael was also a proud member of the Knights of Columbus and enjoyed every event he was part of. He definitely had a heart of gold and was the true example of selflessness. Please pay it forward on behalf of Mike. Special thanks to the first responders, paramedics, firefighters, Sgt. Cooper of Niagara Regional Police, Dr. Tim Rice and the Hamilton General ER Department for their exceptional care. Visitation at MARKEY-DERMODY FUNERAL HOME, 1774 King Street East (at Kenilworth) on Wednesday from 2-4pm and 6-9pm with Vigil Prayers at 8:30pm. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Margaret Mary Roman Catholic Church, 20 Idlewood Avenue, on Thursday, January 5, 2017 at 10:30am. Interment Our Lady of the Angels Cemetery. Donations in Michael’s memory may be made to the SPCA.
