In 1974, Myrtle courageously migrated to Canada to pursue studies in domestic sciences. The following year, she continued her education in healthcare, beginning a long and dedicated career in the field. She served with compassion at Mountain Nursing Home and Grace Villa, touching the lives of many until her retirement in 2005.
Myrtle was a faithful and devoted member of the Hamilton Church of God for over 50 years, worshipping, serving, and uplifting her church family with unwavering faith and love.
On August 28, 2026, at Juravinski Hospital, Myrtle peacefully left this world to meet her Lord and Saviour. Her passing leaves a deep void in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
Myrtle is survived by her daughter Sylvia, step‑daughter Angela, daughter/granddaughter Naketa, brother Stanford, granddaughter Tyania, grandson Oneil, and great‑grandsons Amani and Princeton. She is also lovingly remembered by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She is preceded in death by her parents Ellen and Samuel Miller, five sisters, five brothers, and her beloved grandson Leonard Pinnock.
Myrtle will be dearly missed by her loving family, her church family, and her many friends. Her legacy of faith, strength, and kindness will continue to live on in all who were blessed to know her.
Visitation will be held at Cresmount Funeral Home - 322 Fennell Ave E. on Tuesday, September 15, 2026, from 5-8pm and at Hamilton Church of God, 1955 Upper James St. on Wednesday, September 16, 2026, from 9-10am.
Funeral service will take place at Hamilton Church of God on Wednesday, September 16, 2026, at 10:00 am, followed by interment at Mount Hamilton Cemetery, 260 Rymal Rd E.
