She was predeceased by her parents Mary and Joseph Onyszkiw and her sisters Ann Petrachenko and Olga Poulsen. She is survived by her nieces Karen Petrachenko and Donna Petrachenko. She was a longtime companion to Tom Fretwell (deceased 2024) and a loving “Auntie” to Heather and Craig.
Nellie led an adventurous life and travelled throughout Europe, Hawaii and the Rockies. She will forever be remembered as a very kind and generous woman with a wicked sense of humour who loved to bake and spend her time with family and friends. She will be missed by many.
Cremation has taken place and there is to be a small private gathering for her interment at Woodland Cemetery in Hamilton on April 17, 2026.
