Nikola (Nick) Islic

Peacefully, surrounded by his family, at St. Peter’s Hospital on Sunday, June 16, 2013 in his 61st year. Beloved husband of Barbara (nee Krizancic). Loving father of Natalija Martines (Bob), Biserka Islic (Bart) and Irena Islic (Trevor). Cherished grandfather of Damian, Katarina, Nikita, Marinna and Carla. Dear son of Petar Islic and the late Franca. Loved brother of Marica Bujan (Ivan) and the late Stjepan Islic. Brother-in-law of Josip Krizancic (Danica) and Barbara Islic. Special uncle of Kathy Chamberlain (Rick) and their children Ashley and Erica, Barbara Moya-Ruiz (Ry) and their children Tommy and Ryen, Drazen Islic (Cheryl), Marica Jazvac (Denis) and their children Anita and Andrea, Snjezana Kovacevic (Zeljko) and their son Nicholas, Damir Krizancic.

Nikola will be sadly missed by extended family and friends in Canada, Croatia, Germany and Serbia. Special thanks to the staff of Juravinski and St. Peter’s Hospitals for their exceptional care. Visitation at MARKEY-DERMODY FUNERAL HOME, 1774 King Street East (at Kenilworth) on Wednesday from 2-4pm and 6-9pm with Vigil Prayers at 7:15pm. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Holy Cross Croatian Church, 1883 King Street East, on Thursday, June 20, 2013 at 9:30am. Interment Mountview Gardens.
