August 28, 1927 to July 4, 2026
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Mom on July 4, 2026, at Emmanuel House in Hamilton, Ontario at the age of 98.
Norah was born August 28, 1927, at Turtle Lake, Ontario and later made her home in Bolsover, Ontario with her husband Roly Taylor (deceased Feb 2004), where she created a lifetime of cherished memories with family and friends.
She leaves behind her loving daughters, Michele Clifford, whose husband Art predeceased her on April 1, 2026. Rhonda and her husband Ronnie DeCoste. She was a proud grandma to Nicholas (Laurie), Cassie (Chris), and Taylor (Sarah) and a devoted great-grandmother to Hunter, Lily, Mason and Violet who lovingly knew her as the Best Granny. She will also be lovingly remembered by her many nieces and nephews, each of whom held a special place in her heart. She will be deeply missed by her dear friend Anne, and her cherished neighbours John and Susan, all who became like family to her over the years.
Mom found her greatest happiness outdoors, surrounded by nature in her own little piece of paradise. Whether tending to her yard, enjoying fresh air or simply sitting outside with those she loved, she treasured every moment spent with family and friends. Her warmth, kindness and quiet strength touched everyone who knew her.
Mom’s love for her family was the foundation of her life, and the memories she created will be treasured forever. Though she will be deeply missed, her spirit will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know and love her.
The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate staff at Emmanuel House for the exceptional care, comfort and kindness they provided to mom during her final days. Dr Miklea and his team at McMaster Family Practice and most importantly to Rachel our nurse who came to the house and provided support and comfort.
Visitation will be at Markey Dermody Funeral Home, 1774 King St East on Wednesday, July 8, 2026, from 10am to 11am with Funeral Service to follow in the chapel at 11am. Burial will be on Monday, July 13, 2026, 11am at Bolsover Presbyterian Cemetery. At Mom’s request, please wear your Canadian Tuxedo (denim).
