November 25, 1913 - August 29, 2014
Great-Granny Olga passed away peacefully last week after living a wonderful 100 years and 9 months. As always, her daughter Patricia was by her side. They were very close and have forever been the best of friends. Granny's relatives came from Ireland and she was very proud of her heritage. She was able to visit Ireland but home was where her heart was, in Dundas, Ontario. Most roads (and road trips) seemed to lead back to her house on Ancaster Street. Granny loved her books, poetry, endless drives through the country, but most of all, her family. Granny was loved by everyone, but was extra-special to her three grandchildren, Diane Petty (Lee), John Duke (Jill), and David Duke, and to her four great-grandchildren, Kiana, Duke, Madison and Jackson. She was fun, feisty, kind and caring. Granny was also full of mischief; right to the end she could make a table full of people double over with laughter! She was an inspiration to us all and will be sorely missed. A celebration of her life will be held on Thursday, September 18th from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Marlatt Funeral Home, 195 King Street West, Dundas, Ontario, L9H 1V5. If you wish, in lieu of flowers, a donation made to Specialty Care - Mississauga Road, 4350 Mississauga Road, Mississauga, Ontario, L5M 7C8 in Olga's memory would be appreciated by the family.
