It is with profound sadness, yet with the comfort of God's promises, that we announce the peaceful passing of Reginald Allan Brown, affectionately known as "Reg," at his home in Ancaster on Wednesday, June 17, 2026, at the age of 81, surrounded by the love of his family.
Reg was the devoted and beloved husband of Carol for more than 55 years. Together they built a life rooted in faith, love, service, and unwavering commitment to family. He was the proud and deeply loved father of Alicia and Monica, and the adoring Papa of five loving grandchildren who brought immeasurable joy to his life. Dear brother of Maureen (the late Lyle Black), Curtis (Joji), and Emerald. Reg will also be forever remembered in the hearts of his nieces, nephews, extended family, many of his daughters' friends whom he and Carol lovingly embraced as family, and the countless friends and colleagues whose lives he touched.
Reg was born in Nipawin, Saskatchewan to parents Allan and Alice Brown. His younger years working on a farm helped to shape the man he became in later life. He took his university education in Calgary and began his working career at Imperial Oil in Sarnia, worked in the Mining Laboratory in Lyn Lake Manitoba before coming to Ontario and settling in Hamilton, retiring from Procter & Gamble after 30 years of service.
A faithful servant of the Lord, Reg's legacy of kindness, humility, and generosity will never be forgotten. As a cherished member of the Bethel Gospel Tabernacle Church family, he quietly lived out his faith through acts of service and compassion. His smile could light up a room. He was a man who said little but did so much. To those who knew him, he truly was a superman.
Gifted with remarkable talents, Reg was often the first person others called when they needed help. Whether gardening, building, finishing basements, repairing vehicles, mastering technology, photography, videography, or tackling any challenge that came his way, he generously shared his skills and time with others. There seemed to be nothing he couldn't do, and he never hesitated to lend a helping hand.
One of the ministries closest to Reg's heart was helping to build an orphanage in Uganda. He found great purpose and joy in serving others, and his family invites those who wish to honour his memory to consider making a donation to this mission - Watoto Canada.
Family was at the centre of Reg's life. Countless treasured memories were made travelling together in the family RV. In the last twenty years, Reg and Carol were blessed to explore all six inhabited continents, sharing many wonderful adventures and creating lasting memories through their love of travel and cruising.
While his family mourns his absence, they find peace and comfort in knowing that Reg is now resting in the presence of his Saviour. His faith was steadfast, and his hope was secure. They rejoice in the promise that one day all who loved him will be reunited again.
In keeping with Reg's wishes, cremation has taken place. A celebration of Reg's faith-filled life will be held at Bethel Gospel Tabernacle Church, 1355 Upper Wellington Street, Hamilton, on Sunday, June 21, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. Family and friends will be received at 1:00 p.m., an hour prior to the service. It is especially fitting that we gather on Father's Day and the Lord's Day to celebrate a man whose life was defined by his love for family and his faithful service to God. Family and friends are invited to gather one hour prior to the service to share memories and enjoy a muffin in Reg's honour. For many years, Reg lovingly baked muffins to share with family, friends, coworkers, and fellow church members. A simple act that reflected his servant's heart and desire to care for others. The family hopes that as guests share a muffin together, they will remember the countless ways Reg nourished the lives of those around him through his generosity, kindness, and unwavering love.
