Richard George Gale

Passed away peacefully on February 9, 2016

at St Joseph’s Hospital in Hamilton

with his son Chris by his side.

Predeceased by his wife Alma in 2007,

Richard is also survived by his three older brothers:

Frank (Ann) of Fredericton, Royce (Jan) of Lennoxville,

Phil (Lynn-deceased) of Hudson

and his sisters-in-law Karen of Hillsburgh and Joan of North Hatley.

His memory will forever live on in the hearts of the Gale family

and with the countless number of close friends who

were touched by his gracious spirit, unending wit and zest for life.

Raised in Waterville, Quebec, Richard “Dick”

found his calling in radio broadcasting. His radio program

“An Evening with Richard Gale” ran for more than 25 years on CKDS

where his resonant and gentle voice

became a soothing staple for those who tuned in to his nightly show.

For several years, he wrote program notes for the

Hamilton Philharmonic Orchestra and emceed concerts for the Hamilton Youth

Philharmonic Orchestra and the Canadian Orpheus Male Choir.

Friends are invited to call at the

UPPER JAMES CHAPEL of Cresmount Funeral Home,

1020 Upper James St. on Saturday, February 20.

Visitation will be at 1:00pm with a memorial service at 2:30 pm followed

by a reception. In lieu of flowers, a donation to a

charity of your choice would be greatly appreciated.
