He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Nancy and his two kids, Richard and Victoria and Daughter in law Eunice. Richard was loved by his parents, Raymond and Winnifred and his six siblings Marina, Patricia, Paul, Steven, Wendy, and Roland. He was loved as uncle and friend to many. He was specially proud to be a grandfather to his grandkids Tim, Katie, Jordan, Shawn, Terah, Liam, Austin and Carter and Great Grandfather to Jayden.
He was born December 1938 and raised in Toronto. He was a dental technologist by trade and was well respected for his quality of work and and commitment to his companies.
In 1979 he started his relationship with Jesus Christ. That completely changed his life. He was in love with Jesus and was hungry to learn more about his faith and how his saviour lived. He tried his best to live out his faith every day. He became more like Christ every day. He used to drive kids to Sunday school in the big Purple bus, visiting men in prison and tell people about his best friend Jesus. One of his favourite things was when Liam asked him to join him feeding people on the streets in downtown Hamilton. Richard would give you the shirt off his back. He would give you the last $10 dollars from his pocket. He really lived Matthew 5:40-42. Dad, we miss you greatly but are looking forward to the time when we are reunited with you and Jesus.
Visitation will be held at West Highland Baptist Church, 1605 Garth St, Hamilton on Tuesday, May 16, 2023 from 11am-1pm with a Funeral Service to follow at 1pm. Burial will then follow at White Chapel Memorial Gardens, 1895 Main Street W. Hamilton
