Mr. Robert Fraser

Fraser, Robert (Bob) - World War II VeteranPeacefully at the Henderson Hospital on Saturday, October 31, 2009 in his 92nd year. Predeceased by his loving wife Marion Eileen in 1990. Never forgotten by his daughter Bonnie Griffin (Dennis), and his son Bob Fraser (Randi). Cherished grandfather of Vicki Griffin, Regan Dixon (Fred), Tyson Griffin (Laura). Kurt Fraser and Kristi Fraser. Proud Papa of Mykaelah & Venessa Dixon, Jayden & Adrienne Griffin and Tariq Griffin. Predeceased by his sister Elizabeth Allyson. Will be sadly missed by his sister-in-law Ethel Brookes. Bob wa the last surviving founding member of the Hamilton Naval Veterans Association on Kenilworth Avenue North. He served there as President and Treasurer for a number of years. He was very proud to be chosen to take the "Member of the Year" for the Hamilton Naval Vets in 1985. He was recently honoured for being a "60 year" member of the Electric Masonic Lodge. Bob wa a long time member of St. Mary's Anglican Church, which later became The Anglican Church of the Nativity. He retired from the Westinghouse in 1983 after 50 years of service. Visitation will be held at Markey Dermody Funeral Home 1774 King Street East on Tuesday, November 2, 2009 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A service to celebrate Bob's life will be held on Wednesday, November 4, 2009 at 11 a.m. in the chapel of the funeral home.
