Ronald Joseph Arsenault

Born with cerebral palsy and non-verbal throughout his life, Ronald faced significant physical and medical challenges - but those challenges never defined him.

His smile did.

Ronald had an extraordinary ability to communicate without saying a word. His enormous, whole-hearted smile could light up a room, and his determination, resilience and ability to find joy despite adversity inspired everyone fortunate enough to know him.

He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by his mother, Priscilla Arsenault; sister and long-time advocate Jeanette; twin brother Donald; brother Gerald (Rosalie) and their family, Chantell (Ryan) and children Ethan and Logan; Derek (Sylvia), and Scott (Lenah) and their children Grace and Claire; along with youngest brother Pierre and his daughters Gabrielle and Pascale.

Ronald was predeceased by his beloved father, Armand Arsenault; his niece, Kait Shannon; and former brother-in-law and advocate, Michael Shannon.

The family is forever grateful to Ronald's longtime caregiver, Elham "Lily" Hammouda, and his newest caregiver, Pina Orlando, for their loving care and companionship.

Heartfelt thanks are also extended to the dedicated staff of Complex Care and ICU at St. Joseph's Healthcare Hamilton, and to all who helped make Ronald's final journey peaceful, comfortable and dignified.

Ronald's life was remarkable not because of everything he endured, but because of how he lived through it all - with determination, joy and that unforgettable smile.

Rest peacefully, Mr. Beamer. Your smile will remain in our hearts forever.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Ronald's memory may be made to The Mark Preece Family House, a Hamilton charity providing a home away from home for families who need to remain close to loved ones receiving hospital care.
