Rosalina Celeste Bastos Silva

Born on March 17, 1935, she was the beloved daughter of Joaquim Sousa and Maria Bastos. Rosalina lived a long life leaving behind a legacy of love, family, and cherished memories that will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.

A devoted wife, loving mother, cherished grandmother, and adored great-grandmother, Rosalina’s greatest joy was her family. She was the beloved wife of the late Manuel Silva with whom she shared a life filled with treasured memories of their children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

She was a loving mother to the late Maria Lourenco (John), Nelson Silva (Anita), Alice Cipriano (John), Adelaide Veltri (Herc). Special mention: Wanda and Michelle. Her love for her children was unwavering, and the family she nurtured was a lasting reflection of the devotion and care she gave throughout her life.

Rosalina was a cherished grandmother to Melanie (Patrick), Amanda (Luke), Jamie (Andrew), Sarah, Benjamin, Jesse, Lauren and Rene. She was also the adored great-grandmother to Tristan, Phoenix, Rio, Lyla, and Isabella who brought an extra special joy to her life.

Rosalina’s family was most important to her and the love she shared with them will continue to live on. The memories made and the moments shared will forever be treasured by those fortunate enough to have called her mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

Though her passing leaves us with heavy hearts, Rosalina’s love and the beautiful memories she leaves behind will remain a source of comfort to her family. She was kind, caring, loving and generous. Her presence will be deeply missed but her spirit will live on in the hearts of all who loved her.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Wentworth Lodge in Dundas for the care, kindness, and compassion shown to Rosalina during her time there. Forever loved and forever remembered. A Memorial Mass will be held at Sts. Peter & Paul Church, located at 50 Brucedale Avenue, on Saturday, October 3, 2026, at 10am. An urn committal will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, 580 Old York Road, Burlington, Ontario.

May she rest in eternal peace, reunited with loved ones who went before her.
