I am so sorry to read of Ross’s  passing . I do believe he  was the same crazy guy that was a classmate at Central High, I  think maybe grade 10 or 11.  I was bemoaning the fact that girls couldn’t take shop class as I really wanted to learn how to build things. Ross offered to let me attend his shop class the next day and  do his homework assignment and he would attend home economics class in my place. Needless to say  I created a stir in his shop class and just to embarrass me the teacher made me get up and read out my research on Jack planes, but I was well  prepared! I’m sure the Home Ec class was more fun with Ross attending ! I’ll  always  remember his sense of humour and how much fun he was to be around.  Condolences to all your family.

Sorry to hear the loss of a great husband, fatherz grandpa and great grandpa. He was a great help coaching kids for a long time in the Stoney Creek Minor Softball Association. Also when you saw him he always greeted you with a big smile. Fly over all the fields and watch the kids play.

ross and i were very very best friends when we were kids.

my mother was rare at the time--as in she had a full time job.

i used to have my lunch at the munros on fairholt every school day until the grade 3 when we moved to greensville.

then we'd hang out after school and weekends.

my memories of mr and mrs munro are strong as well as his grandmother and jiggs.

ross was a year ahead of me and went to prince of wales while i went to adelaide hoodless. i lived on fairholt--two places--carrick and Connaught. memories of kenny coons and his sisters, billy irwin, richie moses and several others.

a strong memory was going out on fairholt during half time of the 1957 grey cup and playing catch with a peewee football on the street.

cinnamon butter, white bread with butter and brown sugar, bumping down the stairs on our butts, playing in the alley.

i think he started to play the flute before i moved. remember him on tiny talent time.

a year or two after we moved, he spent the weekend in greensville.
only saw him a few times after that. bought a suit from him in 1971, i think it was, and then bumped into him at herkimer and caroline around 1972.

i visited mrs munro in 1999 and we had a long chat.
