Roy Henderson

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Robert (Roy) Henderson on Wednesday, April 29th, 2015 in his 86th year. Roy passed away at Juravinski Hospital, surrounded by his family. Pre-deceased by Hilda his loving wife of 50 years. Much loved father of Rob (Tami), Brenda (Robert) and Mark. Beloved Papa of Courtney, Amanda, Caitlyn and Morgan. Adored Great Grandpa (Papa) of Aubree and James. Born in Belfast, Northern Ireland, Roy came to Canada in 1954 and has been a proud Canadian since 1955. Roy was a member of the 163 Legion. Also, Right Worshipful Brother Roy Henderson was Past Master of Battlefield Lodge 714 Stoney Creek, and a Past District Deputy Grand Master of Hamilton District B. Visitation will be held on Monday, May 4th, 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at CRESMOUNT FUNERAL HOME – FENNELL CHAPEL, 322 Fennell Avenue East, Hamilton. The funeral service will take place on Tuesday, May 5th, at 11 a.m. in the funeral home chapel. Later that evening a Masonic Memorial Service will be held at the Masonic Temple in Stoney Creek at 19 Dawson Avenue at 7:30 p.m. The family would like to thank the staff of F3 at the Juravinski Hospital, in particular Irene, Stephanie, Edith and Sarah. Thank you also to Debbie and Teresa for taking such good care of Dad and Mark. Thanks to Dr. Peter Leggett, and very special thanks to Dr. Debra Hastings, Dad’s cardiologist. Your love and compassion was and is appreciated more than you can know. In lieu of flowers the family would appreciate donations to the Hamilton Masonic Foundation or Community Living Hamilton.
